Who We Are
Henry Samuel Inc. was formed by Maia Michaelson, owner of Mico Promotions, Inc., a graphic design firm located in New York City. In 2006, Maia and her staff created a print campaign for The Conservative Synagogue of the Hamptons to build awareness for the shul. The congregation is an intimate community that is committed to meaningful prayer, led by Rabbi Jan Uhrbach. In order to convey the congregation's core values, the concept for the campaign was to feature one transliterated Hebrew word and its meaning.
Maia and her staff collaborated with Rabbi Uhrbach and synagogue board members to produce a series of words and ads that ran weekly in local newspapers. The meanings, which are beautifully written by Rabbi Uhrbach, capture the spirit of Judaism. They reach beyond expected definitions, changing our understanding and shifting our perspective, just a little bit.
The campaign generated tremendous response. Words appeal to educated and observant Jews who appreciate the meanings, as well as to Jews who may not know Hebrew and who want to have a better understanding of the religion. Maia formed Henry Samuel Inc. to develop and market products that feature this concept under the "Words by Henry Samuel Inc." label.

Shipping Information
Most orders are processed and shipped within 5 business days. If an item requires a longer lead time or is on back-order, we will note that during check out. Items ship out of facilities located in the northeast via UPS Ground (unless you specify differently). Actual shipping time can take up to 5 business days, depending on the destination. Whenever possible, we will email you information you can use to track your shipment.
If you have special shipping requirements or need to receive merchandise on a rush basis, please email us at sales@henrysamuel.com before placing your order. We will do everything possible to accommodate your request.
Refund, Returns and Cancellation Policies
Our refund and return policy is simple: we want you to be 100% satisfied with our product or we'll refund your money (excluding shipping costs).
To return non-personalized merchandise, you need to re-pack it in its original packing material and include the Packing Slip that shipped with your order. If you do not have the Packing Slip, write your name, address, phone number, email address, and the reason for return on a separate sheet of paper and enclose it with your return. Be sure to indicate the reason for the return and whether you are requesting an exchange or a refund. Returns must be postmarked within 14 days from the date on the Packing Slip. Refunds will be credited to your account via Paypal.
Please note that we can not refund shipping costs.

Online orders are processed securely through PayPal Express Checkout. You may use your PayPal account, or your Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card.
Please note that if you pay by credit card or PayPal your statement will list the charge from "Henry Samuel Inc.".
3) Will I pay sales tax?
If the delivery address is within New York state, 8.675% of the order total (including shipping) will be collected as sales tax. New Jersey and Connecticut delivery addresses will incur a 6% usage tax based on the total order (including shipping).
4) What if I want to ship different products to different addresses?
At this time, Yahoo stores can accommodate only one shipping address per order. If you would like to ship to multiple destinations, you'll need to place separate orders for each shipping destination. Or you can call us toll-free at 1-877-255-2461, and we'll do it for you.
5) What if I would like to have one of your products personalized?
Personalization and customization may be available on some merchandise for an additional cost. Please email us at sales@henrysamuel.com prior to placing an order. We will do our best to accommodate your requests.

We developed programs specifically to help synagogues and Jewish organizations with their fund-raising efforts. If you leave us your name and contact information (or the name of someone at your synagogue or organization), we will send you our program literature and review how our products can be used to support your fund-raising efforts.
